walserhaus vrin (gr) switzerland, 2022/25. reconstruction and conversion of a compact farmhouse from 1800, right next to the characteristic barn in the cons district. the focus was on a moderate renovation with deliberately simple means, the installation of a regularly accessible staircase and the increase of the room heights to almost two meters. new wall paneling in raw silver fir and original surfaces now define the rooms. a continuation of wood as a building material and a low-contrast of old and new preserve the atmosphere and dignity of the old house. the renovated rooms of the historic knitwear building now showcase the diversity of our furniture collection and are designed as a vacation and exhibition object. architecture and realization: hubert sanktjohanser. alphabet, format, basic, tektur, digital, dinadrei, iku s+, iku 14h, quartier, linux, kontext, analog, dasregal, kitchen
