indoor climate

the relative humidity in the rooms where the furniture stands should not fall below 50%, to prevent cracks and warping of the wood and the board materials. dry indoor air is not good for people's health either. if cracks appear in the wood because the humidity is too low, they will usually close again once the indoor climate is balanced. we cannot accept liability for damage caused by air that is too dry.

uv light / heat

protect the furniture from direct sunlight and heat. if one area of the surface is always covered – by place mats, for example – its color will develop differently from the uncovered areas.

microfiber cloths

please do not use microfiber cloths for cleaning. they destroy the surface, whether it is oiled, soaped, lacquered or laminated.

oiled surfaces

cleaning

for wood we recommend sonett dish soap as a cleaning agent (www.sonett-online.de). this proven liquid soap replenishes the natural oils and protects the surface with every cleaning: simply apply one or two doses to a cotton cloth soaked in hot water and wipe the surface evenly along the grain. if needed, sonett can also be applied directly and left to act for a few minutes. please wipe up water marks and spills immediately. harsh and abrasive cleaners should not be used.

repairs

minor damage can be repaired with fine sandpaper and local refinishing. to refinish an oiled surface, apply a thin coat of oil and polish it dry with a cloth after about 15 minutes. within a few days the reworked area will usually blend in almost seamlessly. caution! the cloth can later ignite spontaneously.

soaped surfaces

cleaning

for wood we recommend sonett dish soap as a cleaning agent (www.sonett-online.de). this proven liquid soap replenishes the natural oils and protects the surface with every cleaning: simply apply one or two doses to a cotton cloth soaked in hot water and wipe the surface evenly along the grain. if needed, sonett can also be applied directly and left to act for a few minutes, then wiped off several times with water. please wipe up water marks and spills immediately. harsh and abrasive cleaners should not be used.

repairs

minor damage can be repaired with fine sandpaper and local refinishing. to refinish a soaped surface, apply a slightly diluted sonett emulsion and wipe it off with a damp cloth after about 15 minutes. within a few days the reworked area will usually blend in almost seamlessly.

lacquered surfaces

cleaning and use

for daily cleaning, wipe the surface with a dry or slightly damp cotton cloth. please always wipe up water marks immediately and rub dry. avoid mechanical damage from sharp or rough objects. abrasive cleaners should not be used.

hpl surfaces

cleaning

for daily cleaning, wipe the hpl surface with a damp cotton cloth. if any marks are still visible, remove them with a melamine sponge ("magic eraser") using light pressure. then wipe again with a damp cotton cloth and rub dry. abrasive cleaners should not be used.
