mapleacer pseudoplatanus

pale, hard and heavy wood. maple is the lightest native species. its color ranges from pale white to yellowish light brown; fine black-dark inclusions, light gray shading and small sound knots are typical features of solid maple. soaped a very fine pale tone, lacquered whitish yellow, oiled pale yellowish. as a veneer more even.

beechfagus sylvatica

lively, hard and very heavy wood. beech is marked by a strong reddish yellow tone with brownish inclusions and occasional small darker knots. oiled richly colored, lacquered calmer. as a veneer more even.

european oakquercus robur

hard, coarse-pored and heavy wood. with its porous and therefore textured surface, european oak also differs markedly from the other species by touch. the natural color ranges from a light yellow-brown to reddish brown tones. changes of color and small, partly dark knots are characteristic of solid european oak. soaped a pale, very natural look tending toward light gray-brown. lacquered stronger, with light gray-brown to yellowish shades, oiled a lively, strong color from light brown to gray-yellow. as a veneer more even.

ashfraxinus excelsior

hard, strongly grained, ring-porous and very elastic wood. its natural color ranges from whitish to pale yellow. soaped very pale, tending toward white, oiled distinctly more yellow. lacquered and oiled bright somewhat less yellow. as a veneer more even.

cherryprunus avium

lively wood of medium hardness. a predominantly reddish tone with yellow-red and yellow-green gradients, with partly black inclusions and fine darker knots. the outer, partly somewhat paler section of the trunk is used as well. oiled very fine and richly colored, lacquered a little less lively. as a veneer more even.

walnutjuglans regia

lively, porous wood of medium hardness with a pronounced dark tone. as solid wood, american walnut is defined by its dark play of color with pale streaks and by small ingrown knots. oiled particularly fine and strong, lacquered not quite as lively. soaped surfaces grayish matte. as a veneer more even, with a dark brown tone.

oiled

the surface is usually wetted, finely sanded and treated with colorless complex single-application oil. this surface has a matte, silky sheen and emphasizes the color and grain of the wood. complex oil allows individual areas to be reworked locally, remains open-pored and repels water. on tables the oil is combined with an activator that makes the surface particularly hard-wearing.

oiled bright

the surface is usually wetted, finely sanded and treated with complex single-application oil in a raw-wood effect. this surface has a matte, silky sheen and brings out the natural tones and structures of the wood only slightly. complex oil allows individual areas to be reworked locally, remains open-pored and repels water. on tables the oil is combined with an activator that makes the surface particularly hard-wearing.

soaped

the surface is finely sanded and treated several times with an emulsion of soap and lye. each step is followed by intermediate sanding. this surface changes the color of the wood only slightly and leaves it looking almost untreated. the treatment originates in flooring and has proven itself for furniture. for regular cleaning we recommend sonett neutral dish soap. this liquid soap replenishes the natural oils and protects the surface with every cleaning: simply apply one or two doses to a cotton cloth soaked in hot water and wipe the surface evenly along the grain. the result is a natural, robust surface that ages with dignity.

matte lacquered

the surface is finely sanded and given two to three coats of a matte two- component lacquer. each step is followed by intermediate sanding. lacquered surfaces are usually less intense in color than oiled ones. reworking on site is possible only to a very limited extent. protect lacquered surfaces from moisture.

custom finishes

beyond the treatments listed, custom finishes are possible: furniture surfaces stained or tinted and then lacquered over. a sample finish is prepared beforehand – without tint, with tint, or tinted to match a reference sample provided by the customer.
